Loïc Yezeguelian is Innovation & Product Lead at CalibSun, where he combines data science, product management, technical strategy, and industry expertise to develop forecasting and solar resource assessment solutions for the solar energy sector. He holds an engineering degree from Mines Paris – PSL, with a specialization in geostatistics and applied mathematics.
Before joining CalibSun, Loïc worked on the sizing of hybrid photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems, as well as on the development of a solar resource assessment offering that later became CalibSun’s FUTURE product. These experiences gave him a strong understanding of the solar industry and enabled him to develop a broad range of transversal skills, complementing his expertise as a data scientist.
In his role, Loïc ensures that CalibSun’s technical offerings remain aligned with customer needs. He contributes to the company’s technical strategy and works closely with customers to refine and optimize the operational code pipelines, customer-facing add-ons, dashboards, and product features. He also identifies and assesses new product opportunities, coordinating their development with the scientific, technical, and business teams.
Loïc has played a central role in the development of all CalibSun’s products, including NEXT and INSTANT, which provide intraday solar forecasting services, as well as FUTURE, the company’s solar resource assessment product. His technical expertise covers satellite imagery, numerical weather prediction data, SCADA data, on-site sensor measurements, time-series analysis, machine learning, and hemispherical sky-camera imagery.
He is also an expert in the processing and quality control of on-site sensor data. These measurements are integrated into CalibSun’s forecasting systems as additional features, helping improve the reliability and relevance of solar production forecasts.
Over the past four years, Loïc has been instrumental in transforming research forecasting algorithms into a commercial, real-time, and scalable platform serving customers worldwide. He productionized the first forecasting algorithms developed within the company, created a satellite-data calibration algorithm, and designed the business codebase supporting their operational deployment.
He also designed the FUTURE product from the ground up, turning solar resource assessment research into a fully structured product offering. More recently, his work has focused on integrating customer SCADA measurements and hemispherical camera imagery into CalibSun’s forecasting systems.
Alongside his product and technical responsibilities, Loïc regularly presents CalibSun’s work at scientific conferences, business events, and customer meetings. He also leads the R&D partnership between CalibSun and Mines Paris – PSL through the company’s mentorship of the SciDoSol research chair. As part of the annual Solar Winter School organized by Mines Paris – PSL, he delivers plenary sessions on solar forecasting and practical sessions on sensor-data quality control.
